Chris loves the sea and spends half his year working on a big ass boat. He is honest, hard-working, SO generous, and fair. He is a strong leader and has the brain of an engineer. Core Values

Sustainable Growing Practices

Boxwood Burrow follows sustainable growing practices and permaculture design principles.

This means all of the flowers & food grown on the farm are chemical and pesticide-free.

We use biological mitigation techniques to deal with pests, such as ladybugs for aphids & ducks and chickens for slugs and wireworms!

We use organic fertilizers filled with alfalfa, seaweed and bone meal to promote root growth. As well as worm castings for compost tea to feed the plants to help make them grow healthy & strong.

Every day, we make decisions on how best to support this beautiful plant and build a sustainable life.

It’s important to step away from chemicals, support our native ecosystems, and create biodiversity and abundance for future generations.

Community Connections

A core value of Boxwood Burrow is to build a strong community, support a circular economy & grow a sustainable future for generations to come. We do this by being a part of the Maryland Cut Flower Growers Association, taking part in community events, seasonal plant sales, farmers' markets, and ecological outreach programs. As well as donating to environmental and indigenous-led organizations and so much more!

Conservation & Biodiversity

There has to be a balance when growing and harvesting from the land. Part of this includes supporting the native ecosystems on our property and yours!

By creating nature-scapes filled with a variety of native flowering annuals, perennials, and shrubs we can help sustain a more biodiverse landscape of flora and fauna on the farm and in our community,

We also focus on the addition of beneficial habitat features that can help our local pollinator species and native wildlife thrive.

For more information on how you can create a biodiverse landscape in your backyard, check out our passion project Eastern Ecology.
