Boxwood Burrow

Flower Farm & Native Plant Nursery

At Boxwood Burrow, our goal is to make local, sustainably grown cut flowers & native plants accessible to florists and our community.

While giving back to native ecosystems, we nurture biodiverse landscapes, and work to protect the eastern box turtle.

Workshop Announcement!

I will be hosting a workshop and talk at this years Howard County GreenFest!

From Yard to Habitat: Creating Backyard Spaces for the Eastern Box Turtle

At the edge of every garden is an opportunity. This presentation invites you to reimagine your backyard as habitat. Where leaf litter, native plants, and quiet corners become essential resources for the Eastern Box Turtle. Drawing from Kyla Lynn Kroh’s new and practical Box Turtle Garden Guide: Creating Backyard Habitat for the Eastern Box Turtle, we’ll explore how small, intentional changes can create spaces that support both wildlife and a deeper connection to the natural world. Emphasis is placed on designing box turtle friendly landscapes using native plants, natural shelter, and thoughtful stewardship practices.

I hope to see you there!!!

Welcome to Boxwood Burrow

Pink flower buds in a greenhouse environment, surrounded by green foliage.

We are a small-scale flower farm and native plant nursery making a BIG impact.

At Boxwood Burrow, our goal is to make locally grown cut flowers & native plants accessible to our community, while supporting local florists and fellow growers along the way.

Through thoughtful, sustainable growing practices, we’re helping create a circular economy, lowering the carbon footprint of the floral industry, and proving that beautiful blooms and can be grown in harmony with nature.

Every plant we grow is rooted in care for the land, native ecosystems, and biodiversity.

Because saving the bees (and the turtles!) matters just as much as growing beautiful flowers.

Hi There!

Hi, I’m Kyla, the face behind the flowers here at Boxwood Burrow.

I recently made my way to Pasadena, Maryland after nearly a decade on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. During my time on the island, I worked in flower shops, wholesale nurseries, and landscape design organizations before starting my own flower farm and garden design business, Meadow Wren Flower Farm.

Meadow Wren focused on growing cut flowers and native plants while creating biodiverse landscapes for birds, bees, and other pollinators. Alongside growing I found joy in arranging flowers for my local community and designing thoughtful, impactful floral installations for elopements, weddings & smaller events.

Today, I’m so grateful to be putting down roots in Anne Arundel County and to have the opportunity to make sustainable, locally grown blooms more accessible to my community.
